Mike Boyle’s Responses to ‘Interview Questions
1) Why did you decide to run for County Sheriff?
I feel we need change in all levels of government. The office of the sheriff will provide me with a chance to serve the citizens of Delaware County by following the rule of law, not the party bosses. 2) Why do you feel you are qualified for this office?
I have an understanding of our State and U.S. Constitutions and the liberties they recognize. I have a commitment to following these in order to best serve the citizens of the county. In addition, I have extensive experience in various industries including manufacturing, insurance, real estate, and banking; and in numerous roles including management, cost analysis, sales, and administration. These give me a wide perspective on issues, and insight into policy implications to diverse individual interests.
3) Is there any one thing you would like to change while in office?
I will provide more leadership and will be accountable for what my deputies do. In the recent case of ballot confiscation the proper reports were not available concerning who was dispatched, who issued the order, and the sheriff appears unaware of the events of that day.
4) Do you feel you have a chance to win?
Definitely. Voters are looking for a change and more responsible government. They want the option of selecting someone who will not play the "politics as usual" game, and I give them that choice. 5) Should you win, what would you most like to accomplish in your first year in office?
I want to make sure everyone in the Sheriff's office has the proper education and understanding of the Pennsylvania and U.S. Constitutions as it relates to law enforcement, keeping the peace, and serving the citizens of the county.
